Living Life the Way God Intended-With Others!

Vision Statement

We are chosen by God to bring the good news & encouragement of Jesus to the poor, oppressed & afflicted in our community.  He has sent us to comfort those whose hearts are broken. To declare freedom from the darkness that binds them & to show them the favor they can have through the Lord Jesus Christ.  To console those who are sad by treating them like Royalty instead of dirt, so they can have joy & gladness instead of a discouragement. They will become trees of goodness to honor God.  This will be done for His glory! (based on Isaiah 61:1-3)

Purpose Statement

To become a Church in unity that is willing to actively love people in our community throughout their difficulties, guiding them toward Godly change without compromising Biblical Truth.

Core Values

Psalm 82:3–4 3 “Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

Ephesians 4:15 “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.”

1 John 4:10–12 “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves & pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Hebrews 3:13 “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”

Romans 15:5–6 “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Ephesians 6:7 “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men,”

Our Calling is Isaiah 61:1-4

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom fro the captives and release for the prisoners 2. to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3. and provide for those who grieve in Zion- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor. 4. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.

We’ve had several confirmations that God has called us to this here.

We believe God desires our primary focus to be reaching the people around our church. We have found, however ,that He has been using people from other spots in and around the Springfield area to pour into the people of this community and in many cases the people of the community pouring into them. We believe God will continue to send willing servants  to Passion as we also see them rise up from within our church and the community for the purpose He called us to.  Loving Him and loving others.

It’s a BIG calling….will you help us?
